Ginx Woolly Linx Party September

Well summer is nearly over (at least for those of us in the the northern part of the world), and it is the time of year when us knitter and crochetters start planning new projects for the autumn and winter evenings. Perhaps you will find some inspiration from these projects from the August Party.

I loved these cheerful summery crochet magic socks from Lilia of Lilia Craft Party. I don't know if these is a reason why there seem to be fewer crochet socks than knitted. These ones look superb.

Gema of Hebra de Lana has made this beautiful kimono style baby jacket and booties, as a gift. I love the wrapover jacket, and the pattern is shown off to its best with this simple light grey.

Michelle of My Bijou Life has made this pretty little bolero. She says she is a newbie returning to crochet, and has been very honest about the problems she faced. The finished garment is very inspiring, especially to a fellow newbie who has never attempted a crochet garment.

and finally Nephi Handmade has made an adorable tiny teddy bear. So cute.

I am looking forward to see what you make in September. I have been very unproductive (in knitting terms), and have been plodding away on a pair of socks to keep my sanity, between packing and cleaning. But the house move is done, and the socks are nearly done. My wool has actually been sorted by colour, which has never happened before, and I have some ideas brewing for new projects.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party August

Hi everyone! Are you having a good summer. I have not got much done crafting, as our house move is getting closer. Contracts have been exchanged and movers booked. I have realised that I am a terrible hoarder. Maybe that is part of crafting, as it is easy to think that something can be reused or repurposed at a later date. But strangely I am quite enjoying the decluttering and cleaning. So I am not sure you will hear much from me for the next month, although the party will keep going.

I really enjoyed looking at your projects for July, and my favourites seem to be a mixture summer fruitfulness and romance.

I adored Fanny of Yarn Around the World's blanket.  Beautiful pastel colours, and it has a real 3D-quality. She should be very proud.

Cat of Crochet Cloudberry has made an adorable little strawberry gnome. Follow the link to see her gnome. I loved the simplicity of these little strawberry flowers.

Au Fils de Marmita has made some cute little pineapple earrings. There is someone in my family who would love these.

And finally, but not least, Alexandra of Eye Love Knots has made her own wedding dress and bouquet.  Doesn't she look fantastic. I am hoping she will tell us more, perhaps when she is back from her honeymoon.

Please try and visit each others posts and comment. I don't want to one of those parties that sets rules, but it is nice to share the love.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party July

June was a bumper month for the Ginx Linx Party, with 46 project linked up. Thank you to everyone who joined in. You are making my job of picked just four to be featured even harder.  I am away from my computer tomorrow and Monday, so hope I have set this up so the party will spring into life when it is July.

Lalka Crochet has made this Holiday Frog, who is all ready for some time in the sun with his swimming trunks.

Alexandra of Eye Love Knots is also ready for the sun, with this original idea for a Watermelon Glasses case.

I fell in love with this blanket by Au Fil de Marmita. It looks like it is made from velvet.

And finally Fanny of Yarn Around the World has made this very positive bag. Yes, let's all cut down our use of plastics.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party for June

Hello everyone, and welcome to the party for June. Thank you to all who joined the party in May, and especially to anyone who has joined in for the first time.

The features for May start with

Gema of Hebra de Lana who showed a beautiful shawl, and these feline socks. My daughter (who is 16) looked at them and said "I would like some socks like that", so they must be cool.

Alexandra of Eye Love Knots has made these interesting ear rings. I love seeing crafts used in a new and original way.

I've been thinking a lot this month about ways to reduce the amount of plastic I use, and this great shopping bag by Sabine of Nephi Handmade is green in every meaning of the word.

And finally Ineke of Inekedcblog has made this beautiful dress and bolero in red and white. I love bright colours for babies.

Keep on linking up your projects. I enjoy looking at them all, and getting some inspiration for my own work. Please try and call back throughout the month, so you can see who has joined in, and share the "woolly love".

Ginx Woolly Linx Party May

Once again the end of the month has snuck up on me. But the good thing is, all your lovely projects have dragged me away from the television, and I have had a great evening visiting your blogs.

If there is a theme in the featured projects this month, I think it is pattern. All of them have used pattern to great effect - with pattern both in the colours and textures.

Michaela of HeArtDeco has used ribbon yarn to create this beautiful basket. I love the design, and her post contains instructions to make one yourself.

I love Julie from Sum of their Stories gingham baby blanket.  The checkered boarder is just scrummy, and she also gives a tutorial to make your own blanket.

Alexandra from Eye Love Knots has made this beautiful Manchester Handbag. Just love the shape of this bag, and there is something about that single pink stripe that is just perfect.

and finally Lilia of Lilia Craft Party has made this stunning Samantha Tunic. To fully appreciate how beautiful this is visit her blog, as the photos there show it in its fully glory. This is her own pattern, which is available on ravelry.

Thank you all for joining in the party for April, and I can't wait to see what you are working on next ....

Ginx Woolly Linx Party April

Hello everyone, and welcome to the April Woolly Linx Party.

March has seemed to fly by, and for me (in the knitting sense) it has not been very productive. But if not knitting me and my husband have been very busy around the house - DIY and tidying, and at work we were visited by the dreaded Ofsted. If you are not from the UK this might not mean much to you, but it means we have a visit from the school inspectors.

So after all that it is nice and relaxing to sit with a cup of tea and look at your lovely project for March.

The party will open at midnight, and I have changed to new style party, so am very much hoping that all will work as normal. I always get a bit fazed when things change.

I love Gema of Hebra de Lana's boho style bag, which she has photographed really interestingly in an old warehouse.

Maricarmen of Tramas de Colores has made some gorgeous pink crochet baby shoes.

I have a bit of a thing about llamas, so had to choose this lovely one from Liz of Howling at the Moon.

And finally Lalka Crocheta has made this adorable polar bear, named Knut.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party March

Well somehow the end of February has snuck up on me rather unexpectantly. So I have spent most of this afternoon looking through your posts, which have all been very inspiring.  Thank you to everyone who joined in the party for February.

My featured projects for the month are:

Eli of Ovillo de Eli has made this cute little lamb for a baby shower. Check out the whole post, as there is also a lovely baby bunting, and it is all set off with rosebuds.

Elizabeth of The Craft Lizard shared this lovely Winter Bosque Hat pattern. This Fair Isle knitting does not look easy, but I have already downloaded the pattern and am going to give it a try.

And the next project is also mixed colours and knitting. Isn't this traditional Nordic style sweater, made by Gema of Hebra de Lana, timeless and beautiful?

And finally Lalka Crochet has made a Yoga Doll, which had her own yoga mat and can do the yoga poses.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party February

I seem to have a bit of a Valentine theme going with my features for January, but honestly only noticed this after I had picked them.

Stephanie of Unique Yarn Designs linked with a crochet pattern for these little heart-shaped boxes.  I love this sort of project, and despite my rather ropey crochet skills, I am going to try to make some of these.

Maricarmen of Tramas de Colores has knitted this beautiful rainbow scarf, in a fern pattern. I like every this about it, the colour, the design and the wool looks so soft. Not quite in my theme, but I guess it would make a nice Valentine gift.

And another scarf from Tonya of Sew Crafty Crochet. It was the autumnal colours that attracted me to this scarf, and the heart-shaped ends are a great finishing touch.

and finally Alexandra of Eye Love Knots has made a envelope wallet for your Valentine card. I just love that lacey edging detail.

Thank you to every else who linked up with your projects last month. I enjoy looking at them all, so keep linking and visiting each other.  As we are a fairly small party, your chances of being picked as a featured item are fairly high, and I hope that also sends some new visitors to your blogs.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party January 2019

Hello, and Happy New Year!

I am so pleased to welcome you to the first Ginx Linx Party for 2019, and to celebrate that the party has reached its first birthday. I was a bit nervous a year ago when I started the party. Will anyone come and join, and will I be able to technically put it together each month? But much to my relief you have come from all over the world, and shared your wonderful projects. The party has grown a bit month by month, but also lots of you have come back regularly.

I have picked a few more favourites than usual, just couldn't limit myself to just four.

Lilia of Lilia Craft Party in Venice has knitted this lovely London Scarf. Her own design, I think it is both cosy and glamorous.

Gema of Hebra de Lana has made Leopold, a polar bear who looks all set for cold weather in his Nordic sweater.

Jo from Three Stories High has made this sweater from a pattern called The Simplest Sweater, but added her own unique coffee-coloured band of Nordic decoration.

Sabine of Nephi Handmade has been running a penguin CAL. I recommend you click on the link to see all the penguins that have been made so far.

Maricarmen of Tramas de Colores has made these cute little Christmas gnomes. I would like to make some of these myself for next Christmas.

and finally Olga of Lacey Crochet has made this beautiful leaf-inspired doily from her own design. I am always a bit in awe of this type of crochet work, done with such fine thread.

So thank you to everyone who has joined in the party over the last year, and I look forward to seeing and being inspired by your projects in 2019.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party December

I feel that my favourites this month might be summed up by the phrase "deceptively simple". Aren't they all beautiful, great colours, and beautiful designs.

The first is this lamp for St. Martin's Day. It made me feel nostalgic for the school where I used to work. Every year we would visit the nearby German School, and make lamps to celebrate St. Martin's Day. I love the coloured ribbons on this lamp, made by Howling at the Moon.

Next Raji's Craft Hobby has made this super crochet star ornament. She has a really good photo tutorial, so even a crochet novice like me could have a go.

Ha, at last some knitting. Isn't this baby jumper and booties just beautiful. I just love the pure whiteness, and the way it has been presented by Gema of Hebra de Lana from Spain.

And finally Fanny of Yarn Around the World has made this classic crochet basket. Love the bright yellow and the shape.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party November

Your projects this month definitely had a bit of an Autumn feel. Although I like crafting all year, Autumn does seem the time when folk like to cosy down with their wool, and a good project to get stuck into.

I have just mail-ordered some wool for two fairly big projects. Wool arrived very speedily, and so beautifully wrapped. But I am not a fast knitter, so you may not hear much from me for a few weeks.

Thanks to everyone who joined in last month. It is lovely that so many of you join in regularly, and also nice when somebody new turns up. Please try and visit each other, and leave a few comments. Remember you have all month to do so, so it is always worth popping back to see who new has joined the party.

I loved this glimpse of a work in progress from Sweet Locust Farm. This is a Fair Isle sweater being knitted for her grandson. Love those colours, though it does look complicated.

Next are some soap cosies from Alexandra of Eye Love Knits. Just love all those different textures she has created.

Fanny of Yarn Around the World has been making some little autumnal creations. Have a look at not just these lovely acorns, but also a hedgehog and some toadstools.

And finally Tonna of Sew Crafty Crochet has made this superb poncho to keep her daughter warm on Halloween. Just love all those sparkles.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party October

Hi Everyone, Welcome to Ginx Woolly Linx Party for October, and a special welcome to anyone who is joining in for the first time. The party will open at midnight tonight.

There were some great projects in the September Party, and here are a few of my favourites.

Emilie of Emzzcrochee has made a cute little robot called Bot.

Fanny of Yarn Around the World has made the Pretzel Brooch as part of her Octoberfest costume.

I love this guinea-pig made by Nephi-Handmade. Reminds me of my pet guinea-pig I had as a child.

And finally Amalia of Handmade by Amalia has made a super knitted basket. I can never have enough baskets to store wool in.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party September

Hi everyone. Welcome to my Ginx Woolly Linx Party for September. As I type this it is a week before the end of August, but I will be going to Wales for the last week of the month, and will be away from my computer. I am hoping I will be able to launch the party at the flick of a switch from afar. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will work. Apologies to anyone who has joined in towards the end of the month, as I may not have considered your posts for the August favourites. Please feel free to relink them to the September party if you think this may be you.

Nephi-Handmade has made this adorable sloth, called Fabio. He looks so cute hiding in the tree.

I love this Moana - Polynesian Princess outfit that Ineke of inekedblog has made.

Marjan of Atelier Marie-Lucienne has made this wonderful Bohemian Rhapsody bag. I just love the bright colours - brilliant.

Maria Jose of El Inventario de MJ has made crochet covers for stones. I love this idea, and also admire the skill.

I have just noticed that my featured projects for August are all crochet. All I can say is "come on you knitters".

Yarn Bombing in Blairgowrie

This is just a quick post, as I have been away, and shock horror, despite taking it with me, I have not been knitting. Actually that is not strictly true, as I did a tiny bit of knitting on the train to Scotland, but after that it just stayed in my bag.

But here is a little bit of yarnbombing that I saw in Blairgowrie, and thought would be nice to photograph. I could not see any information as to who had done it, but it was in a little garden near the war memorial, so I suspect that was what it was to commemorate.  But now I am back home, and hopefully back to the needles.

Ginx Linx Party August

Thanks again for linking up to the July Ginx Linx Party. Last week I went on a little trip to Amsterdam. Knitting and crochet do seem very popular in The Netherlands, so I was not surprised to see a basket with some knitting in the Airbnb that we staying in. I have just read that the word knitting derives from the Dutch word knutten - to knot.

But I digress, so back to the favourite features from the July party.

Raji of Raji's Craft Hobby has made this cute little watermelon pincushion, and there is a really clear tutorial so you can make your own.

This lovely cushion is on Nephi-Handmade. I love the bobble heart design.

And there are more bobbles and a tutorial on Cozy Woodland Cottage Knits, where Arjaye makes a cute little bag.

Finally I could not resist picking the two dinosaurs on Lalka Crochetka made for her baby nephew.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party July

Hello again, and welcome to the Ginx Woolly Linx Party for July.  I have just spent a long time looking at all the links for June. Once again I am in awe of some of your projects, and picking favourites has been tricky. I am so happy that the party is getting just a little bit bigger each month.

Maaksels van Carlak has knitted some adorable little rabbits and a bear. Check them out in their shoebox house.

Wild Daffodil has made has crocheted not one, but two of these beautiful blankets for her twin granddaughters. What lucky girls.

EyeLoveKnots has made a crochet summer tank vest. My daughter is now pestering me to make her something similar.

and finally Lalka Crochetka has made really unique doll based on a child's drawing. I love this project.

Looking forward to seeing your July projects. Remember only projects made from yarn or wool. Doesn't have to be knitting or crochet though - does anyone still do macramé or it could be weaving!

Ginx Woolly Linx Party June

OK guys, this month you have me beat. I really could not narrow my favourites down to just four. There were so many lovely projects, so I have decided to pick my four favourite crochet projects, and then my four favourite knitted projects.

My party, so I guess I can change the rules. Perhaps I shall say that this doubling up, is to celebrate the party having been running for half a year! Even with this doubling of my favourites there were still some projects that I wish I had picked, but had to leave out. So keep on linking, and you will get featured ...

Howling at the Moon made this wonderful cat bag for her friend. I love the stylised cats. Take a look at the other pictures on her blog.

Marjan of Atelier Marie Lucienne has combined crochet with sewing to make this beautiful bag. She dyed this wool herself.

Carla of Maaksels van Carlak has crocheted some feathers, some of real birds and others imaginary.

and finally Ineke inekedcblog has made a whole airport of planes and a heliocopter. Aren't they great!

And now to the knitted projects

Barbara of Knitting Work in Progress has use a textured stitch called Pin Check to make this beautiful blanket. Lovely subtle colours and the stitch is reversible. I want to try this out.

Tonna of Sew Crafty Crochet has made this scarf in shades of denim. I love the simplicity of the design, and the fact it is all in garter stitch.

Anja of Zoomsnoren has made the Danish entry to the Eurovision song contest, Rasmussen.  Just shows there really are no limits to knitting.

and finally I just love this hat from Gema of Hebra de Lana from Spain. The pattern is called Anagram, and I want to knit one.

So thank you all for joining the party, and congratulations if you were featured this month. I would love to see what new projects you have been working on. Remember the party keeps going all month, so you can join in at any time.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party May

Welcome to the May Ginx Woolly Linx Party. How quickly the months seem to come around. Thank you if you joined in last month. I really enjoyed looking at all your projects, and visiting your blogs. I feel like the party is settling down a bit, so there are some regular contributors, which is really nice.

My featured projects from April are Alexandra of EyeLoveKnots super slouchy beret. I love this style of hat, it is just perfect.

Tonna of Sew Crafty Crochet made an incredible cactus plant pillow. She picked just the right wools that at first I thought it really was a cactus.

Julie of Sum of Their Stories posted a tutorial on how to make your granny squares into a pencil case. Great idea, and I love the bright colours she has used. I think I may give this a go.

And finally Sandra of Hakelfieber made a little red devil, to mark that this was her 666th post on her blog. She may be a little devil, but she is also very cute.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party April

Howling at the Moon has made Alison the Alpaca from Book of Pica Pau by Jan Schenkel. Some of you might know I have a bit of a weakness for alpacas.

Alexandra of EyeLoveKnots has shared her pattern for some cute Chicken Butt Coasters.

Linda of Linda's Crafty Corner has made this stunning blanket. I love the simple geometric design, and that so many of Linda's makes are for charity.

Finally I have chosen Handmade by Amalia's work in progress. Her picnic blanket is a riot of colour, and clearly her nephew loves it already.

I can't believe it is April already. Easter and April Fool's Day on the same day - when is the last time that happened. But it is about time that we had a bit of decent spring weather. If you were featured this month you can post the "I was featured" button on your blog. (I nearly picked more features this month as there were so many lovely projects, and only a very strict teenage daughter made me whittle down to four.)

Remember you can link up any time in April, but if you link early please call back to see who else has joined in.

Thank you again for linking up to the March Party. I do enjoy seeing all your projects and visiting your blogs. Remember to spend a little time visiting each other and spreading the love.

Ginx Woolly Linx Party March

Once again you have made it extremely difficult for me. So many beautiful projects, that it has been very hard to limit myself to just four favourites.

Marjan of Atelier Marie-Lucienne designed and made this wonderful crochet coat. It is so stylish and well-made she must get compliments everywhere she goes.

Sandra of Hakelfieber has made this adorable Pinnochio doll. You can just see the cat from next door trying to get into the photo shoot.

Cathy of Nanacathydotcom has made this curvacious dragon. What little girl would not love a pink fluffy dragon called Belinda?

I am in awe of Deborah of Raindrops on Roses Blue Moon doily. She says they have no practical use, but just looking at something this beautiful is inspirational.

If you were featured then please post the "I was featured" button if you wish, and if you were not then don't be downhearted, maybe next month. Please remember to visit each other, and call back throughout the month to see who has joined in the party.
