But this one was a lopsided misshapen duck thing that was supposed to be a sweet little bird I was trying to make without a pattern. 4-5 attempts later and I finally made my amigurumi hummingbird!Red Haired Amazonahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06100903203745873879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835785024084523237.post-77397972557388047832015-10-04T22:11:09.427-07:002015-10-04T22:11:09.427-07:00I think looks good as a hat so you go with itI think looks good as a hat so you go with itCarolee Craftshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06664419480578937491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835785024084523237.post-47163541069890948512015-10-04T21:44:30.983-07:002015-10-04T21:44:30.983-07:00Hey, it's called being versatile! - I crochete...Hey, it's called being versatile! - I crocheted a little pot a few years ago, and ended up turning it into a baby hat! - BTW, I thought the hat looked great.
Anyhoo, the "secret" to bowls, is in the fiber you use. Try a thick cotton and tighten up your stitches. Make a good firm base, either round or square, then work up. Personally, I like to go sideways, attaching as I go. Or, you could make a "boa" and then attach it to the base... You really don't need a "pattern". Think about how you would design one knitting and just adapt it to crochet. You HAVE the skills!!
Auntie Shanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05300073760215969631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835785024084523237.post-49711498023710465762015-10-04T14:17:13.003-07:002015-10-04T14:17:13.003-07:00Both as a hat and a bowl, your creation looked goo...Both as a hat and a bowl, your creation looked good to me. I have made an OK crocheted bowl, I used some of the tshirt yarn that is super expensive here. I have a friend who brought it back from spain for me where it is cheap as chips apparently. It can at least hold its shape although the sides sag a little.
