You just can't rush on a canal.
In the background of this picture is Caen Hill, the longest flight of locks in Britain. So I feel like I have muscles in places I didn't even know existed. In all we think we went through 76 locks. I also pranced around on the tow path with my camera, and took loads of lovely photos of plants and animals, but I will put a few in another post. For now I am going to tackle the most enormous pile of washing I have ever seen!
That sounds like my kind of holiday, just messing about on the river! 76 locks gosh you would look like a muscle woman after all those :0D
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, this sounds lovely... and perfectly relaxing.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I long to go on a trip like this. I've dreamed of it. But I've always wondered about canal boats and bathrooms. At my age, that's of great interest to me. I've wanted to do the canals both in England and in the Loire Valley - but England especially, after I read Three Men in a Boat - lovely, quiet, delight.
ReplyDeleteWe had a very tiny shower, so it wasn't too bad. I go into a decline if I can't wash my hair. We were on an ordinary boat, but there was a Bond class boat that had two shower. Every few days you have to top up your water tank!
DeleteBeautiful photos. Now I want another vacation far away from everywhere.
