I've been knitting away at my Little Christmas Trees, and waiting for a day when the light is good enough for a few photos. I work til mid-afternoon most days, so often by the time I get home the light is fading. Even today, although there was a lovely blue sky, the light was disappearing every minute.
I've been playing around with the
embroidery decoration on the trees. I've also knitted a few with just
three sections, which seems to work equally well as knitting four.
This very pale green one with daisies is my favourite.
Can anyone recommend a gold or silver wool for knitting? I'm thinking of making a few with a bit of sparkle. My local shop doesn't do anything suitable, so something that is available online would be great.
Is anyone else feeling a bit Christmassed out? One more fair to go next weekend, but Father Christmas is going to be at this one!
The light does disappear too quickly these days. All the trees look great. My favourite is the one with the green edge and green bauble decoration.
ReplyDeleteI think Lion brand Bon Bons have some sparkly colors. I haven't actually used Bon bons though, so I don't know if I'm recommending a particularly good yarn.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty trees!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so sweet - I love the one with the navy flowers best. It's so hard to catch the light at this time of year, isn't it, I try to make in the evenings and do my photos first thing in the morning. Have a great week, Alison x
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Twinkle wool? It is not expensive but has shiny bits through the yarn. Not sure that they do gold or silver but definitely red and green as I have used them. So far the french knot one is my favourite. (I ahve not had time to get Christmassed out yet as quite behind most people!)
ReplyDeleteoooh i love the pale green with daisies too! although they are all absolutely gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteI love these especially the white and blue one.Great idea!
ReplyDeletethese look amazing - so festive and sweet I like the cream with the navy daisies best.
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous. Daylight seems so short doesn't it? I'm glad not to live in the far northern islands of Scotland!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be lovely to have life size trees looking like those! My bird was made up as I went along, no pattern involved. Hope you manage to work out your robin OK.
ReplyDeleteThe trees are gorgeous. I really like the beads and the one with the little flowers is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteAli x
oh wow! how cute these trees are! i love the white-blue version as well as the white-grey one. and the pearls just look great at the edges! cool!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet trees. Would make a lovely garland, with several trees : -)
ReplyDeleteThe trees are so cute. Re the glitter think you would have to use normal wool knitted with the glitter yarn. Bergere De France Lurex is good from Cocoon Knits: http://www.cocoonknits.co.uk/pages/bergere-de-france-lurex/7307
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. I bet they make a lovely addition to any tree!
ReplyDeleteNice trees!
ReplyDeleteThese are sweet :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your little trees. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose trees are perfect and I love the beadwork on them.
ReplyDeleteThese are just beautiful! I love the beads and the different embroidery you did on each of these. Thanks for sharing at Hookin On Hump Day!
ReplyDeleteI love the Cat Loves His Fish up there on your left sidebar thingy. That is exactly the kind of word play I like to use when I do my felt applique. Very cute!
