Since autumn definitely seems to have arrived here with a bit of a blast, I thought I would post this photo as a reminder of summer. I did not see many ladybirds (ladybugs if you are in the States) this year, but snapped this one in my back garden.
That is a really good pic - ladybirds are difficult to photograph because they are so small. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/1SXA7W - still on my other blog,

Beautiful photo and I love your header too! I used to think ladybugs were adorable - until they started infesting our house every February. Ugh. They must have been dormant in the walls and just before spring would come out around the window frames on the sunny side of the house. Hundreds of them! I would suck them up in the vacuum cleaner hose every day! We haven't had any in a few years (knock wood). I prefer they stay in the garden! :D
I've been taking a lot of nature photos with my camera. The flowers won't last much longer and autumn is beautiful here in NY state. Winters last a long, long time!
A perfect little lady beetle - we always called them that as kids and believed they brought good luck. I guess it is because it is so rare to see one. Great shot- the orange contrasts so well with the green around it.
It's always lovely to see a ladybird, such a simple pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI never seem to see any ladybugs in FL. They may be here but we never see them.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun picture!

The other day while on a walk with my critters, a ladybug landed on me. They're pretty common here in Nebraska. I enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing ladybirds/ladybugs in our yard. How wonderful you caught this one with your camera to enjoy longer.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely selection of knitted/crafted pieces. The starfish and sand dollars really caught my eye.

ReplyDeleteLovely shot! I didn't see any this summer. We'll see if they start showing up on the porch trying to get in as the weather cools down though!
