Loom bands are the craze that have swept the country. I don't know if they have gone global, but they are certainly are big in the UK. My husband came home from work one day, saying that all his colleagues were wearing a band made by a small relative.
But did you know that you can also make small creatures? The tutorials for these are very easy to find on Youtube. My daughter made herself the panda, and the duck for me. I think they are really cute, although they do take quite a lot of bands. I got my little duck on condition I would go shopping for some more bands.
I would love to hear about any interesting loom band creations you have come across.

ReplyDeleteHow interesting... what kind of material is used? I remember years ago we used to have 'friendship bracelets'. But haven't seen something like that for a long while. Thanks for showing these, they are so cute and you sure have instill some creative thinking into making yours. Love the yellow birdie. ;)

I'm sure the kids in the UShave discovered these bands ... in fact, I think thatsome schools are asking parent not to allow the kids to bring the bands to school, as they are such a distraction for the kids! LOL! Poor teachers ... as if they're not challenged enough to keep kids on track!

ReplyDeleteThese bands are huge among the elementary school set in New York. My niece has made bracelets for everyone she knows. The critters are darling!
ReplyDeleteI think these are a worldwide craze- young girls in Australia are crazy for them too- I know I would have been at the right age. I like seeing grown men wearing them, clearly made by their daughters.

I had a blue and pink bracelet in the summer made by my grandson !I had no idea you could make anything else with them - what a missed opportunity when collecting them all up from the car etc!! ReplyDeleteI have 3 little loom band addicts here - not including me lol. I think as addictive kiddy crafts go, they are perfect :) Our most ambitious creation to date was Elsa from Frozen! (If you have a loom band addict chances are Frozen is in your radar!)
