Since it is the time of year for spookiness and all things creepy, I just thought I would show you my Spooky Stanley Spider. Actually I think he is not really frightening, just a little glum.
He
is very easy to make. He is knitted flat on two needles, with icord
legs. His feet are black buttons, although I think beads also would work
well. Link to the pattern on Craftsy is in my lefthand sidebar.
I used Rowan Fine Tweed (Pendle), and knitted two Stanleys
from one 25g ball. I think other wools would work well, although you
would need to adjust the needle size. I liked the rough bumpy texture of
this brand.
He does look rather forlorn, maybe he needs a lady spider to keep him company.
ReplyDeleteHe's cute! Suction cup feet would be fun, too!
ReplyDeleteStanley does look rather glum as opposed to spooky, however I think he is darling.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little character! Contrary to what you say I do find him a bit scary, with his teeth showing and all. Love him!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet "Mr Skinny-legs", he does look a little sad though, perfect for Halloween.
ReplyDelete...hmm... I think I saw him scurry over my STASH the other day..?

Have him dangling in your porch at night enough to frighten off the hardiest of T & T's
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I love his little eyes. I can picture him on roller skates like the spider in Harry Potter!
ReplyDeleteAdorable Halloween decoration. Thank you for sharing with the Clever Chicks Blog Hop! I hope you’ll join us again next week!
