Yarn Bombing in Blairgowrie

This is just a quick post, as I have been away, and shock horror, despite taking it with me, I have not been knitting. Actually that is not strictly true, as I did a tiny bit of knitting on the train to Scotland, but after that it just stayed in my bag.

But here is a little bit of yarnbombing that I saw in Blairgowrie, and thought would be nice to photograph. I could not see any information as to who had done it, but it was in a little garden near the war memorial, so I suspect that was what it was to commemorate.  But now I am back home, and hopefully back to the needles.

Just a reminder that my Ginx Woolly Linx party for August is now running. Click on the photo above or at the top of the page to find the party. I would love to see what you have been working on this month.

Yarn Bombing

In Herne Bay, and once again they have been yarnbombing on the pier. It is nearly a year since I last took photos here. I was really impressed with the new displays. Here are two that appealed to me the most. The remembrance poppies were simple, but really effective. I like that the flowers are not all exactly the same colour. And I also liked this crochet peacock, which has been really well-thought out.

Yarn Bombing

Yesterday I had a trip down to the coast in Kent to visit my mum. We had lunch out, and wheeled her down the pier. I thought you might like to see these photos of the railings, which have been yarn bombed. I think it has even been added to since my last visit (when I forgot to take my camera).

As you can see it goes on for yards and yards ....

I love this giant tarantula, as well as the red arrows display team ...

... and this chicken and food section ...

So much for my idea to knit a Battenburg cake. It is so hard to come up with something original.

I
Lovely bright beach huts ...

... and I liked this spooky display.

I even saw a starfish, which I am pretty sure was knitted from my own pattern. Well done Herne Bay knitters and crocheters, you have done a fantastic job!
